Yes, I am saying this out loud, I have reached my 50’s approaching the average age of Menopause in Ireland, but I am not there yet! I am still in the perimenopause stage and doing my best to embrace the changes this brings and adapt my nutrition and lifestyle to reduce symptoms as they change. I still have periods, not as regular as they were and sometimes surprising me with a visit at the most unexpected unsuitable time (so always be prepared). But I have come to accept that this is part of this natural life stage and try to be prepared.
Knowing that this is a phase, and it will pass, coupled with taking to my friends, family, and all of you about symptoms are some of the things that has helped me most. I hope to live long past Menopause and the changes I make now will help me to live long and strong life for hopefully the next 40 years!

Since I fractured my ankle while walking the dogs in 2022, my interest in bone health has increased. This fracture really brought home to me the need to look after our bones and maintain bone density as we age. From the age of 30 women loose muscle mass and bone density.
