Women in Ireland don’t talk about hormone health with other women or their partners, with many suffering in silence and dealing with hormone imbalance symptoms on their own, which can be difficult. So many women are not aware that their hormones health effects their mood, energy levels and much more, and that good nutrition and exercise can help to keep hormone health in balance.
Lorraine started the Let’s Talk Hormone Health Podcast with Cleanmarine to encourage women to talk about perimenopause and menopause with their friends and seek help from experts. To encourage women to share experiences, knowledge and support each other through this difficult time in a woman’s life.
Consultant Endocrinologist, Dr. Mary Ryan, said; “Our hormones control so many of our bodily functions, we can all take simple steps to improve our Hormone Health at all life stages, in particular as we approach menopause. I am excited to bring my knowledge as a Consultant Endocrinologist to the airwaves with Lorraine Keane and make this information accessible to all”.
Speaking about perimenopause during the podcasts, Lorraine said, “I had no idea that perimenopause was relevant to me in my late 30’s or early 40’s because it had menopause attached to it…. I’ve come out and said I’ve perimenopause and it’s not something to be ashamed of, it’s just another stage that we are going to have to go through. We are all living longer now”.
We hope you enjoy listening to Lorraine and her guests open up about their hormone health, and that it encourages you to do the same.
